Advisor and Coordinator

• Lead and support social and web marketing and communications, abstract review, and volunteers for the Undergraduate Research Symposium.
• Advise current UW students, from first-year to senior, across the research lifecycle— finding opportunities, communicating with mentors, and applying research to personal and professional goals and much more.
• Develop and implement social media and website engagement. Including social media content planning and design, website development, and content.
• Manage, with the Director, the undergraduate research conference award application and funding process, from application review and funding determination.
• Support undergraduate research strategic plan development, design, and implementation onto the UW campus and surrounding communities to advocate for access to opportunity.

Research Consultant, R15 Grant

• Developed and assisted in collaboration with the Primary Investigator (PI) various data collection instruments including novel measurement tools.
• Prepared and led in the development of paper publications and presentations on findings of generalizable knowledge contributing to the advancement of learning curriculum for English Language Learners (ELLs) in rural communities.
• Performed other administrative research duties, including gathering of source material, grant application support, and figure and iamge development for novel tools.

Research Program Planner

• Assisted and supported both students and faculty seeking research opportunities by implementing mentorship programs, hosting and facilitating research-oriented information sessions and meetings, and collaborating cross-departmentally and across schools and colleges.
• Developed and led strategic advertising and promotional campaigns towards current and prospective students, faculty and staff, donors, Board of Trustees, and the Omaha community through social media, graphic design, web design, and other channels of communication.
• Planned, coordinated, and aided in oversight of key engagement opportunities including National Undergraduate Research Week, University Research Week, Admissions Student Days, scholarship and fellowship submissions, and other workshops and one-off events.
• Acted as instructor for CUR 500, an undergraduate research leadership course that supports the center’s student ambassador program. This course aids these students in developing their leadership, communication, and professional skills to prepare them for future careers in research.

IRB and IBC Specialist

• Served as a resource and source of guidance for researchers/registrants, CU learners, and clinical research office inquiry regarding human subjects research and/or biohazardous safety matters; answering federal, policy and procedural, and other inquiries.
• Implemented directives and processes identified by the Director of the IRB as it relates to education, templates, guidelines, internal work instruction, and other initiatives and training and educational programs.
• Administratively supported all aspects of the University’s two Institutional Review Boards and the Institutional BioSafety Committee, including Board management, convened meeting participation, and determination preparation and finalization.
• For both the IRB and IBC, performed both technical reviews for completion and review of Quality Improvement and Not Human Subjects Research submissions.

Management Intern

• Engaged in various leadership and supervisory roles across the resort, including roles within housekeeping, through front and back of restaurant, banquet/event planning, reservations and front desk, and the local retail/grocer.
• Ideated and collaborated with general and assistant management team to enhance various procedures and duties within the resort to encourage higher efficiency, outputs, and greater guest service and support.
• Performed research on the topics of college students, their affiliations with stress/depression, and the impacts of environment/nature on coping abilities and personal and professional growth.

Intern to the Vice President for Finance and Administration

• Worked directly with the Vice President for Finance and Administration to develop research-based solutions for various oversights including department staffing, employment benefits, campus sustainability, and historic landmark grant opportunities.
• Presented and hosted various meetings that allowed the reporting and in-depth discussion of various research findings and proposals to the VP.

Project Coordinator, R15 Grant

• Managed a team of 20 undergraduate researchers over 2 years while facilitating delegation of data collection, entry, and management throughout all research phases.
• Prepared data and assisted with data’s transition into academic research papers, presentations, and publications across various journals and national conferences.
• Worked closely with affiliates, including primary investigator, to develop appropriate working models, tables, images, aims, and hypotheses, for R15 Grant application process (Grant ID: R15HD092922).

Academic Assistant

• Assisted faculty and administration of the Institute in core curriculum design as well as strategic planning initiatives that foster global citizenry and leadership.
• Aided 6 cohorts, over 60 students, in designing research questions, bodies of supporting literature, and then executed methodologies presented to an Honors committee and on BVU’s Scholar’s Day each spring as completed Honors thesis and research.

Field Research Assistant, R15 Grant

• Led both group, and individual, battery testing of over 300 rural, EL, middle grade students.
• Entered test data into a database to evaluate performance and identify at-risk children for literacy and knowledge retention.
• Facilitated a classroom while reading verbal instructions to children of an age-range of 10 to 12 years.
